Amy Merritt was raised in Soda Springs, Idaho. She graduated from Soda Springs High School as one of the Class of 1999 Valedictorians. Amy was the team captain for both the Varsity Volleyball and Basketball teams. She was also a four year member of the National Honor Society while participating in Business Professionals of America, Who's Who among American High School Students, Youth in Government, and Students Against Drunk Driving.

Amy attended Ricks College and received an Associate Degree in Office Systems Management. She continued her education at Brigham Young University-Idaho (formerly Ricks College). She received academic scholarships, while working part time and maintaining a high-honors grade point average.

Amy moved to Cache Valley to work with Partners in Business.  She coordinated the Human Resources Seminar in 2003, and then moved on to the Shingo Prize, where she was the program administrator for events and finance.  Amy was later promoted to be the Assistant Director of Partners in Business.  Amy graduated Cum Laude with her Bachelors in Management and Human Resources in December 2003.  She graduated in 2006 with her Masters in Human Resources.

Amy enjoys doing outdoor activities with her husband Trevor, and daughter Kailey.  She enjoys camping, swimming, four wheeling, water-skiing and playing volleyball, basketball, and softball.
