Josh Kerkmann

 

Biography

Josh Kerkmann was born and raised in Logan, Utah. He attended Logan Senior High School, where he participated in cross country, wrestling, and band. He graduated with honors in 2001. Just before graduating, Josh received the Congress-Bundestag exchange scholarships that allowed him to spend a year in Berlin, Germany as an exchange student. After returning from Germany, he spent two years serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Finland. After returning to Logan, he applied and was accepted at Utah State University. He was awarded a Dean’s Scholarship and began attending Utah State in the fall of 2005.

At Utah State, Josh jumped right in and got involved. He started out his freshman year serving on the Associated Students of Utah State University Student Body Presidents cabinet as well as the Vice Presidents committee. From there he also got involved in the universities Hearing Board where he has served the last three years, the past year serving as Hearing Board Chair. Once Josh started taking business classes he decided to get involved in the School of Business as well. He became a Business Ambassador, and served in many capacities there over the past three years including president. He also served on the Business Council. This love for involvement spread into other clubs as well. He served as the VP of Careers in the Huntsman Scholars Council, Community Day Chair in the Entrepreneurship Club, and VP over Study Groups in the Lean Leaders Club.

With a deep interest in international business Josh has worked hard at getting international experience. He has studied abroad in South America, Asia and twice in Europe; he also spent a summer as an Intern in Germany working for BOSCH. Josh will be graduating in 2009 in International Business, Finance, and Economics.

In his free time Josh enjoys running, rock climbing, horse back riding, ultimate frisbee, biking, and riding his motorcycle. Josh is also a member of the Cache County Search and Rescue.

 Josh is the seminar coordinator for the Operational Excellence Seminar.
