Rob was born and raised in Brigham City, Utah where he graduated from Box Elder High in 2001. He attended Utah Valley State College (now Utah Valley University) for one year, then participated in religious service for two years in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Following that he returned to UVSC and received an Associate Degree in Business Management before transferring to Utah State University. While at USU he has earned a Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship in 2008 and is now pursuing his Masters in Business Administration.

Throughout his college career he has received both academic and athletic scholarships, playing soccer at both schools (before two knee surgeries forced him into retirement) and working in various industries to pay for his schooling. In 2007 he completed an internship for Congressman Rob Bishop which fueled his love of politics and government. Along with naps, his hobbies include sports of all kinds, reading, woodworking, history, politics and spending time with his girlfriend Lindsey.
