Complete Biography

Dave is a Tax Partner in the Salt Lake City office of Grant Thornton. Dave brings over 25 years of experience in taxation and international finance. In addition to his experience in public accounting, Dave’s experience includes five years in private industry during which he functioned as Director of Tax and International Finance and Chief Financial Officer of an international design-build construction company with annual receipts in excess of $1 billion.

Dave’s experience in public accounting includes coordinating the preparation of U.S. and foreign returns (both corporate and individual) and providing ongoing consultation regarding international operations, as well as providing ongoing consultation regarding corporate structuring, executive compensation strategies and international expansions. Additionally, he has worked extensively in the expatriate consulting and compliance tax arena, including the development and coordination of international assignment policies for companies of all sizes.

During Dave’s experience with the design-build construction company, he was responsible for all financial aspects related to the design and build of clean-room facilities, including establishing and operating subsidiaries in Israel, France, Singapore, Korea and Ireland. Specifically, Dave dealt with currency transfer issues, foreign employment laws, negotiating special tax arrangements with foreign countries, and foreign tax compliance activities.

Dave received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Brigham Young University. He is a Certified Public Accountant, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants and the Idaho Association of Public Accountants.
