Complete Biography

Dean graduated from Bonneville High School in Ogden, Utah. He received his BS at Weber State University and his MBA at Utah State University.

Dean began his financial career in 1977 with Merrill Lynch. In 1979, Dean joined EF Hutton and became Branch Manager in 1982 for EF Hutton in Ogden, Utah. Following the EF Hutton and Shearson merger in 1988, Dean relocated to the Salt Lake City office until his promotion to Divisional Manager in San Francisco in 1992. When Smith Barney took over Shearson in 1993, Dean became Regional Director of the Northern California region. With the family not content in the bay area, missing their family and friends in Utah, he returned to Salt Lake City in 1994 where he remains today as the newly appointed Complex Manager for Morgan Stanley Smith Barney responsible for all their branch offices in the state of Utah.

Dean and his wife Patricia (Trish) are parents of four, Alison, Ryan, Connor, and Ashley, as well as devoted grandparents to Tyler and Cameron. They reside in Farmington, Utah.

Dean is an avid believer in community involvement and service. He has an active role with Easter Seals, Salt Lake Police Department/Sheriff Honorary Colonels, Make-A-Wish Foundation, and Utah State Board of Education.

Dean still finds time for his passion – golf.
