Workshop Summary - "Go Lean or Go Home: Not Just a Concepts for Production!"

A lean enterprise does not become lean by learning lean principles, but rather applying lean tools to processes. At Autoliv, support groups embrace and apply lean tools to their processes. These tools, lean philospies, and a culture of continuous improvement has allowed the support groups to eliminate waste. From this workshop you will see how lean tools were used in the accounting group to:

• reduce monthly close process from 5 days to 1 ½ days
• make work visible
• speak the right language
• establish targets that drive correct behaviors eliminating waste


 

Biography

Autoliv, a worldwide leader in automotive safety and a technology leader, has the widest product offering for automotive safety. All the leading automobile manufacturers in the world are our customers. Autoliv services them from 80 facilities in more than 30 countries, with product testing occurring at 21 crash test tracks in 11 countries.

Staci, a graduate of University of Nebraska with a BA in Accounting, has over 20 years of accounting experience with Autoliv. Staci has extensive experience in management accounting, primarily focusing on cost and inventory systems as well as directed ERP financial implementations at several sites. Staci is a CMA and current member of the IMA. She is a repeat speaker at USU College of Business, consulted in various industries such as health care, governmental contractors, and privately held companies.

Todd graduated from Utah State University with a BA in Accounting, June 1997. He has over 20 years of accounting experience in the manufacturing world. Todd has worked in various industries including, industrial explosives (Dyno Nobel), medical (Merit Medical), commercial video broadcast equipment (Dynatech), and automotive safety products (Autoliv). Over the past 12 years Todd has been immersed in the lean culture at Autoliv, a Shingo Prize winning company, and a recognized world leader in the implementation of lean concepts.
